It adds up
On your impact portfolio, split into "at events" and "on your own", and on your company's, school's or group's page.
Where your hours go
Log it once. It adds up for everyone involved.
Take Maya. She works at Pear Inc., and on Thursday she joined a river cleanup hosted by a local group. She logged it once.

What do I need to do?
Just confirm your work or school email once, and your hours add up for them too. Groups you volunteer with show on your profile when you check in at their events.
How is each hour counted?
Once on every page it belongs to: yours, the host's, your company's or school's.
What if I change jobs?
Your portfolio stays yours, every hour of it. Hours you gave while at your old company stay on its page; from your first day at the new one, new hours add up there.
Why everything adds up in hours
A tree, a tutoring session and a river cleanup look very different, yet each one took someone's time. Hours are the one unit every action shares, so they're what a portfolio leads with, and what adds up across people, companies and schools. Trees and square meters still show, exactly as you logged them.
One story, two sides
Are you volunteering, or bringing your people together?

Why the numbers can be trusted
Two kinds of hours, both backed by something real
Every hour on Selva is either logged by you or confirmed at an event. Here is what stands behind each.
Hours on your own
logged
A photo of what you did
The place, pinned by your phone
The time recorded at that moment
Hours you log on your own count up to 40 a week.
Hours at events
confirmed
You check in on site
The host confirms who came, and for how long
People who were there can say "looks right" or "something's off" about the host's numbers
Confirmed event time counts in full, up to 24 hours per event.
Both kinds count, for you and for your company, school or group. The tag simply tells you how each hour is backed.
Clear labels
Hours you log are marked "logged"; hours from events are marked "confirmed". You always know how an hour is backed.
Real units
Hours, plus what you actually did: trees, square meters, exactly as it happened.
Every total has a list behind it
Each hour on a profile comes from an action or an event you can see.
Questions
Common questions

Can I log things I do on my own?
Yes. They show as hours "on your own", right next to your event hours.

Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Both are coming soon. Until then, you can sign up and use Selva here on the website.
Can my company or school use Selva?
Yes. Event organizers, companies and schools each get a page where their people's hours add up. See who it's for →
